Welcome to our Student Showcase Summer 2009! This video is a compilation of creative work from 25 of our students who span the globe from Arizona to Amsterdam to Columbia to Minnesota. Each of the featured clips was created by our students, demonstrating their creativity and solid knowledge of character animation concepts. Animation Mentor:
What inspired you to become an animator?

Steve Cunningham:
When I was in high school, my art teacher had a couple of boxes of animation cells from a defunct studio and that sparked my interest in animation. Drawing was always something I enjoyed and fine art wasn't for me. I guess you could say that animation was a good fit.

OK, let's just get it all out on the table, shall we? I have a confession to make: I'm a huge geek. So, being an avowed and unashamed geek, where do you think I was the third week of July? In San Diego, California, of course, geeking it up with the biggest geeks this side of geekville, and loving every minute of it! This was my seventh (eighth? I forget...) year attending San Diego Comic-Con International, and if you're feelin' you might be a geek too, I'm tellin' you right now – hop on a plane next year because there is no better place to be.
