Quote of the Month:
"Everybody 'behind the scenes' there [at Animation Mentor] have helped me realize a dream I thought was unreachable. It's one of the greatest gifts of empowerment that I've ever received."

Welcome to the viewing of our first Winter Student Showcase reel! The neat thing about this showcase reel is that it highlights work from all classes at Animation Mentor (classes 1 – 6). You are among the first to see highlights from some of the amazing short films our students have worked so hard on as well as some fresh takes on acting scenes.
We are excited to be adding a new section to the newsletter, Animation Mentor's Student Short Films. We will be featuring a student short film each month. Get more in depth and find out the student's train of thought as they talk about their short film from conception to completion.
Animation Mentor:
What's one of the most important and/or interesting lessons you've learned while at Animation Mentor?
Adrian Lim:
I guess it'd have to be to always accept criticism of your work however good you think it is - and the willingness to try making those changes even if you think it's “already perfect.”
Animation Mentor:
How has the Animation Mentor experience been for you so far?
Chris Derochie:
I have found that being a mentor has been of more benefit than I had imagined it would be! Some of the best moments have been when I have seen a student with great potential finally "get it" and start to make huge advances.
Well, the most basic explanation, from my point of view, is that "twinning" is less a tangible "something" than a lacking of correct overlap and contrast. It's almost like giving a name to "not having good arcs" or "having confused expressions that don't communicate properly."
