Animation Mentor is going international! From FMX in Germany, Annecy in France, Animation Block Party in New York and SIGGRAPH in Canada, We are traveling to major tradeshows worldwide to meet up with mentors, alumni and prospective students. We thought we'd showcase a handful of Animation Mentor folks who have made their mark on the world stage, as we trot the globe in coming months.
In 2011, we made it a point to get out there and meet our community in person. We have already enjoyed memorable visits with our students and alumni in Germany, France, and New York. And now we are packing our bags for British Columbia. This promises to be coast-to-coast fun!
Travis Howe, an Animation Mentor graduate, is currently working at Sanzaru Games in Foster City, Calif. Game animation requires animators to work quickly, which has taught Travis to find a workflow that allows him to get more polish into his shots even under time constraints.
Tippet Studio Animation Supervisor Jim Brown shares his experience dealing with creative blocks. Deciding how to start a shot can be a challenge in itself, and Jim offers his advice on how to get the creative juices flowing.
