Svetla's Showcase Shot

Check out this month’s video, which shows a glimpse into the making of Svetla Radivoeva’s renowned showcase shot. Svetla, a recent Animation Mentor graduate, explains the process of creating her catwoman shot, which was chosen as one of the select few shots featured in the 2010 student showcase.

Svetla had a clear idea in mind of what she wanted to create, but relied on reference footage in order to make the scene believable. She explains that, until movement is thoroughly explored, the character will not look realistic. Svetla found the shot to be challenging but ended up learning a lot about animation throughout the process.
