Animation Mentor CFO Visits Glasgow Animation

Our Scottish CFO Dave Seltzer had the good fortune to return to his homeland recently, where he stopped in for a visit to Glasgow Animation.  Owned by the husband and wife team of Sacha and Tessa Hartmann, this small boutique studio employs about 25 people, 5 of which are Animation Mentor students and graduates!  Their names are David Martinez, Terrance Rilley, Patrick Corrieri, Roberto Raio, and Kevin Haynes.  They are happily and busily at work on the now half completed feature film Sir Billi, which stars Sean Connery (who is coming out of retirement for this project!) as the main character voice.  Also making vocal appearances are fellow Scots Alan Cumming, Gail Porter, Ford Kiernan, and American Ruby Wax.

The story follows the adventures of Sir Billi (an eccentric Scottish veterinarian) and a goat named Gordon (who thinks he’s a dog).  Sir Billi is set in Catterness, a village which is located in the Northwest Highlands of Scotland, about 75 miles from Inverness. Together, they set out to save Bessie Boo (a small beaver), who has fallen over the edge of a cliff.  With music and adventure, magic and mayhem, Sir Billi, his trusted companion Gordon the Goat, and the villagers must save the frightened beaver before she reaches the mouth of the sea. It will be directed by Sacha Hartmann and produced by Tessa Hartmann and Sean Connery, with music by Oscar-nominated composer Patrick Doyle.
