Animation Mentor Job Fair
More than 70 Animation Mentor alumni came out to the second Animation Mentor Job Fair held on Friday, Jan. 16, at Animation Mentor headquarters in Emeryville, CA. We had a robust attendance from several studios as well. The studios that sent representatives were Blizzard, Bungie, ILM, Lightstream Animation, Pixar, Sony Computer Entertainment America, Sony Imageworks, Speakeasy and Wildbrain. The consensus from alumni was that meeting the studio representatives in person was not as scary as everyone had anticipated!
We look forward to our next job fair and hope to have more recruiters from more studios. We also hope to see alumni come out in full force once again! We’ll keep you posted on where our job-seeking graduates land!

Winter Graduation Ceremony 2009
Animation Mentor graduated its fifth class on Saturday, Jan. 17 at the Cowell Theater in Fort Mason in San Francisco, CA. There were 123 graduates in the class, and 65 graduates from 11 different countries attended the graduation. The Student Choice Awards were presented by mentors Kevin Koch, Michelle Meeker, Jim Brown, and Mike Walling and Dana Boadway “via satellite.” The most prestigious Mentor Choice award was presented by none other than…Spike! Yes, Spike joined us at this year’s graduation!
The special guest speaker, Tim Johnson, who is a feature film director for DreamWorks animation, inspired everyone with the tales of his past, and some stories about how he got to where he is today.
Supportive friends and family were in attendance at graduation, and everyone enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and beverages after the ceremony. Spirits were high and fun was had by all!
