Eric Anderson Showcase Testimonial

In this month's Showcase Testimonial video, 343 Industries Animator Eric Anderson talks about his showcase shot. In the planning phase, Eric decided to create something different from other shots he had animated. Taking inspiration from a scene in Nicholas Sparks’ The Notebook, he began working to create characters whose emotional dialogue called for subtle, yet precise, animation.

Eric explains that a particularly challenging part of animating his shot was the size of the characters’ heads. He had to get creative in order to allow his characters to portray the emotions he wanted them to show within a tight space.

With a background in video game animation, Eric was intrigued by the opportunity to animate something entirely different than what he normally creates; characters portraying heartfelt, dramatic emotions.
